The whole family—my children, my wife, and I—ate together. Three of us ordered the pasta with chicken as the protein, and my daughter ordered a different one. Well, let me tell you, we're all sick with vomiting and stomach problems. We couldn't stop going to the bathroom. Check the cheese because that's what they put in all four of our pasta dishes. That mole cheese was practically gone; it looked like deformed plastic. The chicken in the different pasta dishes was cold, the pasta was lukewarm, and the chicken was ice cold. It could be that the sauce, the chicken, or the cheese is bad. My daughter lives in New York, and we were on vacation. Unfortunately, that's what we ate for dinner yesterday before 7 pm. Seriously, check your products. Don't put out expired food or use a faulty refrigerator. You can't play with your customers. And by the way, the pasta is $9.99, but each sauce or protein is extra, so it's an average of $18 per person. Anyway, that's beside the point. The only thing is, thanks to your pasta, we're all sitting in the bathroom nonstop.

Would definitely not come back. Was really excited to come here since social media made my expectations high and was severely disappointed. Overpriced pasta for the amount given and don’t get me started on the stomach pain it gave me. I’m not lactose intolerant but this for sure made me feel like I did. Would not recommend to anyone. Not to mention the whole space felt like we were in a storage room and no AC

I ordered the pasta with smoked salmon and it was absolutely amazing, so good.  I like the place, but it's very small. I would have liked to sit there longer, but it was uncomfortable because it was so small.

Very disappointing experience. My family and I ate here, and the next morning, all of us woke up with severe diarrhea and terrible stomach problems. We were extremely sick. It is very concerning that everyone became ill after eating here. We strongly suspect that something we ate may have been spoiled or contaminated. We will definitely not be returning, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place.

Pastasole is a great place makes me feel at home also keeps me in remembrance of Italy when I went to Rome and lake Como wonderful place and good hospitality coming from the owners and the chef that is also Sicilian also they have a backyard you guys can eat as well

I loved the atmosphere here it’s so amazing and the food is absolutely delicious and divine and the owners were so kind and welcoming and this was my fifth time here and it’s my favorite I have never taste anything better it makes me miss Italy

This is more of a heads up -> this is the first time I've eaten at a place that makes Italian food that makes sauce is that more like Ragu than say Rao's. Meaning the sauce is on the sweeter side which is not something I've ever experienced at an Italian restaurant in the city. Maybe it's because the pasta is first dipped in the cheese wheel? I wouldn't have expected it as default. Not for me.  Food was also on the pricier side for what it is.

We heard of this place online and are visiting from out of town and wanted to visit. The pasta was super creamy and you can watch them stir it in the cheese wheel. Good deal for the price and the quantity. Both workers were incredibly nice and super welcoming. I would recommend!

The pasta Alfredo is delicious.   I didn’t  get any add ons.   I live a block away and this will probably end up being my go-to place, while in the new fifth ave food court. The service is also unbelievable amazing.  I was going to take half home but it was too delicious not to finish.

Got the pasta Bolognese, mini calzone and tiramisu. Oguz is perfectly lovely, helped familiarize us with the menu and suggest what to get. He is the utmost considerate!  Bolognese with the base alfredo is nice, rich and velvety. The calzone is fried to beautiful crisp, reminiscent of fried mozzarella from Sals in Lawrence MA. We started with dessert and suggest you might do the same whilst awaiting your pasta (which came very fast). Thank you for the quick, easy, affordable meal provided affably.

Had lunch at Pastasol and walked away a bit underwhelmed for the price. I ordered the pesto chicken pasta and a calzone. The pasta was disappointing — topped with a light sprinkle of cheese and barely salted, but otherwise pretty flat in flavor. For $27, I expected more depth. The calzone was the better half of the meal: nicely crispy, fried dough with melted cheese inside, served with a marinara sauce that, while also a little underseasoned, still worked well with the crunch of the dough. Hard to go wrong with that combo. I would get this again honestly.  Overall it was an okay meal, but nothing that stood out enough to justify the price or bring me back. Food was fine, just lacking the flavor punch I was hoping for I probably won't be rushing back.

I came to this restaurant to pick up some pasta because I had tried it before at a street fair and really enjoyed it. Maps showed that the restaurant closed at 11:00 PM, so I made the trip only to be told they actually close at 10:00 PM. Unfortunately, the listed hours on maps were inaccurate, and I ended up wasting both time and gas because of it.  I really hope the restaurant updates its hours on maps so other customers do not have the same experience. Keeping business hours accurate is important especially for people making a trip specifically to visit.  That said, I definitely recommend the pasta.

Stopped by Pasta Sole on 1st Avenue for an episode of Jaguar’s Guide TV after seeing Jack’s Dining Room try it, so I had to see if it was actually worth it.  This is more of a quick casual pasta spot than a full sit-down restaurant. You order through a kiosk, pay by card, and pick up your food. The process was simple, smooth, and the food came out pretty fast.  I tried the Fettuccine Alfredo with Creamy Chicken. The pasta by itself was decent, but the creamy chicken definitely helped bring the dish up. As a full meal, it was solid. Not something that completely blew me away, but definitely a good quick pasta option.  Service was limited because of the setup, but the interaction was pleasant and everything went smoothly.  For $17.85 total with water, the value felt fair for New York.  My breakdown: Food & Drinks: 8/10 Service: 8.5/10 Value: 8/10 Jaguar’s Hospitality Score: 8.2/10 🐾  Overall, Pasta Sole is worth checking out with realistic expectations. I had an issue with my dish and the chef took it personally. I ordered fettuccine with bolognese, the dish came out with too much water. I asked for it to be remade and the chef gave me a refund and told me he’s not serving me anymore. This sucked because I was here the day before, I ordered the same thing but enjoyed it. I came back the next day and had this awful experience.

Nice little hole-in-the-wall restaurant. They also have a food truck in the East Village. The service was great — the people at the counter were very kind, friendly, and helpful, especially when navigating the somewhat confusing touchscreen ordering process. They really make the difference. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming as well. As an Italian (and therefore probably overly obsessed with authentic Italian recipes, like every Italian), I was a bit surprised that almost every pasta dish seems to come with a very rich Alfredo-style sauce. The Bolognese ended up being very cheesy and quite heavy. I’m not sure why the menu doesn’t offer more simple sauces without heavy cream, and I couldn’t help wondering what a pesto-and-Alfredo combination would even taste like. That said, the pasta itself was good, and it’s still a solid choice if you’re in the mood for very rich, hearty food.

I had pasta with garlic shrimp and bread with pesto . The girl called Rain took an order and she inform the sauce I choose was cold and make the order super fast . She helped me out with my order as I am very indecisive. I like the service and food.

I stopped into this restaurant for lunch. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked into a cozy spot. I was greeted and ordered:  Mini Calzone Fettuccine Meat Lovers (Fettuccine Alfredo, Bolognese, Meatballs) Lobster Fettuccine (Fettuccine Alfredo & Lobster Ragu) Mushroom Risotto  I loved how they made the pasta in the cheese wheel! I enjoyed the lobster pasta the most! The risotto was not too bad. All in all a good experience!

I absolutely do NOT recommend this place and it’s not traditional Italian at all. I’m married to an Italian and I’ve had plenty of authentic pasta before I found this place on Instagram, where everyone was basically promoting it, so I decided to try it. I thought it was weird that it was empty during rush hour From the photos and videos, I saw the pasta being made in a cheese wheel and I thought it would be delicious I ordered Alfredo and another one with pomodoro sauce The Alfredo came out like just plain little white cream. The guy there made it in a pan, not in the cheese wheel The pasta was kind of undercooked and it didn’t taste fresh It was dry, not creamy at all and had no salt  The pomodoro pasta was “ok” and a bit creamy but the pasta was still undercooked and needed more cooking time  We ended up throwing away half of both dishes and it honestly hurt spending money on bad food

Honestly such a great find. I had the Fettuccine Pesto e Pollo and it was 10/10. The pesto tasted so fresh and the chicken was perfectly done. My favorite part is that the pasta is made with the cheese wheel! Fantastic! A huge thank you to Rain who was incredibly welcoming and provided fantastic service! It’s rare to find this kind of quality and vibe for such a great price in the city. Definitely coming back.

Usually wouldn’t leave a review unless the food is absolutely bad but this is bad. Paid $16 for pasta with meatballs, the meatballs being really small and $5 for about 5 pieces. The pasta itself has no sauce or Alfredo at all so it’s really dry and the taste is covered up with a lot of Parmesan cheese powder. I feel like from the reviews I’m eating something completely different from everyone else but I wouldn’t pay this much to eat something so bad not even below average. The front counter girl was nice and sweet which is the only thing good i can say about the place but the food damn.

First time here and may I say it was the best!? Not only was the food great in taste, quality, and portions, but the service was honestly the best I could’ve ever asked for Elif, Nada, and Ahmet made sure that our trip was well worth it. My bf and I came from to a week trip from California and we decided to try out the viral spot that’s known for they’re cheese wheel, we had so many questions in regards of the amazing wheel but Nada was so sweet and amazing answering everything for us Ahmet, thank you so much for the Tiramisu it was the best I’ve ever had and to Nada and Elif you guys were amazing today in every aspect thank you for the amazing service served with the delicious food you guys will be missed🥹🫶🏽

Humanity is above business, and these people have a kind and impressive way of treating you. I would sum it up as humanity in all its splendor… From the moment I entered, their service was friendly and fun. My whole family was treated with love and respect, and their food, needless to say, has a touch of culture and essential flavor, all mixed with love, resulting in a rich and delicious dish that I would order again every time I come to New York.  I came from Boston and my cousin told me she was going to take me to eat the best pasta she'd ever tasted. When we arrived, there was a small problem with the opening hours; they were almost closing because we got confused. When we told them we were hungry and had come from far away, they took off their coats and started cooking for us. In another place, they would have closed the door in our faces, but here they put humanity before business, and that, to me, is worth its weight in gold.

It was cool nothing to go crazy about in my opinion. The worker was nice. I loved how the pasta is fresh and from scratch. I did wait for a while for simple order but understand things like that take time. I came on a crowded day and there wasn’t enough seats to sit and wait or eat my food so it had to take it to go. Overall the food was nice its just pricy for some pasta my total was about $18 for pasta. I am understanding and get that in order to maintain the place in the city prices are more than if you were in brooklyn or other places.

It’s pretty good (if your expectations are correctly set)  The pasta was good, but the chicken was a bit underwhelming.  Having breaded chicken or fried chicken strips instead of ‘creamy chicken’ would help a lot with the texture.  The shrimp was definitely better than the chicken in my opinion, and I recommend you get that one and the garlic bread.  (Garlic bread with cheese would be killer to add to the menu btw)  Overall, a nice and affordable pasta place with a fantastic service.

Update: they reached out to Me in a timely manner regarding the issue. I came in to get another pasta with the shrimp. It was delicious, and there was a very generous amount of shrimp. Will certainly be back!  It was a good pasta, but I paid extra for shrimp, and when I got home to eat it, she forgot to put the shrimp :(  upsetting because I was already too far away from the place

This place is good for what it is. (If you go in expecting white tablecloths and caviar you’ll be disappointed.) The pasta is solid, the bolognese add-on I got is solid, but the shrimp were overcooked and too salty. Am I mad I paid $23 for my pasta? No. But if I hadn’t gotten the shrimp and it were $20 instead, I would’ve been pretty happy. Overall, pretty good.

We went late in the day and the truth is, the quality-price ratio is excellent. Ordered 4 pasta dishes and  the only reason I’m giving this one Star because I drove 3 hours down to get my favorite lasagna dish to only get layers of lasagna sheet, meat sauce but looks and taste like just ground beef?.. over cooked top that’s extra crunchy with slab of tomato and sprinkle of cheese. No bechamel/alfredo sauce, no flavor and extremely dry. I broke it apart thinking maybe something on the bottom…  👎🏽 I drove away and it’s gridlock, cannot turn around and spend another hour to come back. This was such a disappointment I’m baffled. I tried to call and no one picks up. Please this has to have  a refund/replacement.

Nice lunch spot, the single worker was a little overwhelmed on his own but did a great job with our pasta. The bolognese was spot on. The pesto was traditional and hearty, but adding toasted pine nuts on top would have made it perfect. The location seems to have a bit of a fly issue inside and should probably get that addressed asap. The music was a bit too loud and didn't match the vibe of the decor.

Been here before as it’s close to work. It’s basic pasta with minimal seasoning. But came back due to pricing with lunch specials for $13. was really disappointed when my lasagna lunch was up charged from $13 to $18 with tax it’s $20. For that price I would’ve crossed the street and got real pasta at Fumo. The pasta sole employee tried to say the price increases because their portions are bigger now but they’re not. It’s the same size I got previously.

The pasta was delicious, and the customer service was excellent. However, the dining area was uncomfortably hot because there didn't seem to be any air conditioning, and the doors were kept closed. I also wish the lunch special offered more variety and included additional options.

Got the meat lovers Pasta. It was strangely seasoned and also sweet ? The meatballs were burnt and had no flavor but reminded of sawdust and ash? I don't like leaving bad reviews but this place didn't leave me a choice. I should have known when I walked in and mentioned I want something with arrabiata sauce and he said "arrabiata Bolognese?" And I'm thinking huh what's this guy talking about those are two different sauces.  They didn't have the protein I wanted anymore (shredded beef) so I shifted to a pesto sauce with creamy chicken but then was told they were out of pesto.  Back to square one. Ok, pomodoro basilico with creamy chicken but the word "creamy" was giving me pause. One of the managwrs or owners recommended it and said thats what he always eats. Against my gut, I ordered it.  The only noodle is fettuccine. It came undercooked. I am a big proponent of al dente pasta, but it's not al dente if the grains are getting stuck in your teeth. It was hard and uneven. The chicken were unrecognizable chunks covered in cream.  I love pasta. I could eat it every day. I could only eat 3 bites of this before I had to throw it away. Pasta and a can of coke came to $22.

The pasta was very tasty and the preparer was really cool. I had the Lobster & being completely honest, as very tasty the pasta was, the lobster felt 'ghosted'. I saw the few pieces in there...and the pasta is affordable...but I was hoping for more. Clean environment and the guy that was holding the fort...was on top of all of it.

I think we've all had those days where we just don't know what to have for lunch but got to get out of the office and not go to the same old spots. Pastasole Chelsea was a spot I've been curious about and a couple of days ago, having that notion of not knowing what to get for lunch, decided it was time and I am so glad I did. Its a nice looking spot with ample seating, good music, and a nicely spotted restroom making it perfect for lunch or if your out at night and need a spot this will do too. Not a lot of people for a Friday lunch time, but Chef Beiji (apologies for misspelling that) took my order and began work making the fresh pasta on the spot. My order was the Fettuccine Alfredo, Arrabbiata, Creamy Chicken, and Sun-Dried Tomatoes for a total of $20.58 after sales tax.  After waiting a bit, he brought it to me and it looked amazing that I almost felt bad digging in to it. Sometimes with an Alfredo pasta dish, it can be strong and with the creamy chicken I had a bit of a worry for being too powerful but happy to report that wasn't the case and everything fit perfectly. The creamy chicken was exactly that with nice pieces of it, the sun-dried tomatoes were good, and the pasta and sauces all complimented each other well. The pasta in particular really stood out to me with how fresh it was and all wrapped up in this bowl for the price it was a steal. Truly a savory dish.  Finishing up and leaving, the chef asked my opinion of how everything was and I can tell he is very passionate for his work and takes great pride. Something he told me stuck out - "We're not trying to sell anything more that is simply the craft and that is the main reason for this." Genuinely liked hearing that and having only 8 months at this location, I'm rooting for the success of this spot and nice to know one is coming soon to the Rockefeller Center area. I also liked that Pastasole is student friendly with student specials/perks. In the end, I really enjoyed my time at Pastasole Chelsea. The menu is easy to understand but leaves room to mix and match how you like giving a reason to come back which I know I will for that garlic shrimp and some of the other combinations and affordable with a generous portion size for the price. Staff was great, passionate, knowledgeable, and curious which is greatly appreciated. If you are looking for a spot that breaks the usual norm for lunch or dinner or looking for something classic but with a grab and go twist definitely check this spot out.

My friend and I visited for the first time and had a wonderful experience. I ordered the Alfredo pesto chicken, and my friend had the Alfredo garlic shrimp—both dishes were authentic, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The tiramisu was incredibly creamy and easily one of the best I’ve had.  A special mention to Elif, who guided us through the menu since it was our first visit. She was extremely kind, attentive, and made us feel very welcome.  Overall, great food, warm service, and a cozy atmosphere. We wanted to eat something different in Manhattan, and after watching several videos, we found PastaSole Chelsea.  Honestly, it pleasantly surprised us. It was a chilly day, heating and music provided. The workers were very sweet and patient especially the one serving us Nada Rain. The pasta was fresh, creamy lobster, savory meatballs. Very satisfying, we went to get seconds because it was that good.

Excellent Fettucini! Your restaurant doesn’t show up when doing a Gooogle search for Pasta in Chelsea. There must be a way to fix that. Your pasta is great!  I would also recommend that you do something about the fogged up windows which prevents people from seeing into the restaurant and seeing the delicious pasta being made. It also looks almost like your closed. Just saying!

It was my first time at Pastasole, and I really enjoyed the pasta. The wait was short, and it wasn’t busy when I went in the afternoon around 3 p.m. There’s indoor seating, and they make the pasta right in the cheese wheel. I appreciated that the chicken wasn’t too salty, sometimes places overdo it. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo, which was good, but I think I would’ve preferred it with a tomato or beef sauce instead of chicken. Either way, I’ll definitely go back to try the other options.

We had a really great experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious, fresh, and very well prepared, and everything we ordered was really tasty.  A special mention to Ed, who looked after us during our visit. He was extremely friendly, attentive, and helpful. My girlfriend ordered the pasta with pesto, but we later found out that the pesto contained nuts, which she could not eat. As soon as Ed found out, he was very understanding and immediately brought us a new dish without any nuts, making sure everything was safe for her.  We really appreciated his kindness and attention to detail. It made us feel very well taken care of and made the whole experience even better.  We would definitely recommend this place, both for the quality of the food and especially for the excellent service. Thank you, Ed, for being so helpful and making our visit such a pleasant one!

Super expensive for what it is. A $30 fast food lunch. Honestly it was not great. The fettuccine had no spice to it. It just all tasted fast food. For this price you can go to a regular restaurant and eat with reL metal silverware,  not plastic utensils.  The food hall is beautiful though. Glad they finally found some good use for the old Lord & Taylor building.  Hopefully they will utilize the top floors as well.

Hands down the best pasta we had on our trip. We ate at an expensive Italian restaurant and it was trash compared to Pastasole. I always wanted to have pasta from the parmesan wheel, it was phenomenal. The garlic bread was just as good, very well seasoned, crispy on the outside, soft and tasty on the inside. The prices were so reasonable. You get a lot of pasta for the price. Thanks for the wonderful meal on our last night in NYC. Best of Luck! Give them a try, you won't regret it ☺️

These guys really know what they're doing! This was hands down the best pasta I've ever had. I asked for their recommendations, and they guided me through the menu perfectly. Such a great spot for a quick lunch. Shaver Hall itself already has an amazing atmosphere but Pastasole just tops it off. You can build your own pasta bowl or choose from the chef recommendations. The mini calzone is my favorite appetizer and the pasta together with the arrabbiata sauce tastes amazing! Will definitely come back to try more from their menu!

I was told by the cashier that there wouldn't be a lot of lobster in the lobster fettuccine given it's the sauce but I expected real bits of lobster. Instead they used imitation crab meat in the sauce. Extremely disappointed in this meal.

My fav spot to go to at Shaver Hall! Such great fresh al dente pasta with that super yummy parmesan wheel taste. They’ve got great sauce and topping options too that you can never get tired of.  Also just great customer service. they’re always very kind and have great attention to detail when answering questions. i’ve brought my friends here so we could have a tasting and they’re very informative on what goes good with what. i’ve never had to wait long for my food when i stop in for lunch.
